As an active user of the Chandler Bike Path, I am writing to express my sincere appreciation and support for Item Q1: Approval of a Final Project Alignment for the Chandler Bikeway Extension Project – Community Development Department on the November 18 City Council Meeting Agenda. Please expedite support for this project so we can close this large gap in Burbank’s bike lane network.

I support the plan as-is, with the following considerations:

1. Chandler Boulevard – from Mariposa Street to Lomita Street: use a raised crosswalk to connect the north cycle track to the south, keeping bicyclists at the same height and creating a speed table to calm car traffic.

2. Chandler Boulevard – from Lomita Street to Victory Boulevard: widen the pedestrian sidewalk to 9 feet, removing 2 feet from each driving lane, to slow down traffic and align with the lane widths along Victory.

3. Victory Boulevard to Cypress Avenue: widen the buffer between the cycle track and car traffic on the east side of Victory by 2 feet, removing 2 feet from the southbound travel lane on the opposite side to increase separation from high-speed cars.
